This page provides focused reading practice for learners preparing for the Duolingo English Test. It is intentionally not described as a complete mock exam because the official assessment evaluates additional language skills beyond reading. Read and Complete practice
Use the visible letters, sentence grammar and overall meaning together. Do not guess from the first letter alone. Check whether the missing word must be a noun, verb, adjective or adverb, then confirm that your completed word creates a natural phrase.
Vocabulary-identification practice
Look at the entire spelling pattern before selecting a word. Familiar prefixes and suffixes can help, but invented words may imitate those patterns. Avoid selecting an item merely because it resembles a real English word. Accuracy matters as much as vocabulary range.
Interactive Reading practice
Read for structure as well as detail. Identify the central topic, notice contrast and cause-and-effect language, and distinguish what the passage states from what you already know. For inference questions, choose the conclusion requiring the fewest unsupported assumptions.

The performance description is an unofficial estimate based only on this short reading set. It cannot be converted into an official Duolingo English Test score. Review errors by task group, practise the weakest skill separately and return in timed mode when you can explain why each correct answer fits.
