Learn a word family in context
Compare ‘The results differ’, ‘There is a difference’, and ‘They used different methods’. Differ is a verb, difference is a noun, and different is an adjective. For each new word, write a short sentence that demonstrates its role. Then practise a common combination such as ‘significant difference’ or ‘different from’.
Correct the pattern behind the error
Change ‘She explain the result yesterday’ to ‘She explained the result yesterday’: the time marker requires a past-tense verb. Change ‘an useful method’ to ‘a useful method’: the article follows the initial sound. Keep the incorrect phrase, corrected phrase, and a fresh example in your error notebook so you can recognize the pattern later.

- Is there a word list that guarantees a high DET score?
- No. A vocabulary list can support study, but successful language use also requires context, grammar, comprehension, and clear expression. Practise using words in complete sentences.
- Which grammar topic should I study first?
- Start with a repeated error in your own work, such as verb tense, agreement, articles, or sentence boundaries. Study the rule, correct an example, and write a new sentence using it.
